About the event
Presented by archaeologists at Community Connections LLC, this event will take place at the Heritage Lakewood facility in the Orchard Room, located at the south end of the buildling on Wednesday, September 18th from 6-7 pm.
Join us for an engaging workshop where we dive into the fascinating world of archaeology right from your own backyard! Community Connections in collaboration with Lakewood Historical Society created the Guardians of Historic Lakewood Program, designed for all community members who are curious about the artifacts they may find on their properties.
During the workshop, we’ll guide you through the process of identifying artifacts using the Guardians of Historic Lakewood handbook. Whether you’re a history enthusiast or just curious about that old bottle cap you found while gardening, this session will equip you with the tools to uncover the stories behind everyday objects.
We’ll provide sample artifacts commonly found in backyards, but participants are also encouraged to bring their own discoveries for identification. No prior experience or membership in the Lakewood Historical Society is required—just a sense of curiosity and a desire to connect with our shared history.
Let’s explore the past together and contribute to our community’s collective knowledge!
